Jump 132 solo

Rolling exit. Flipped and got stable on back for a while, before turning over and doing some turns and small tracking. Deployed main canopy at ~3,500′. Upon entering the landing pattern, I noticed another jumper was still quite far ‘forward’. I decided at this point to abort going for my intended target, and follow the jumper, as it looked like he was going to land very close to, or on the wrong side of, the perimeter fence, and may need a hand. The other jumper landed on the other side of the fence (safely), and I was close enough to help him get back over with his canopy without damaging anything 🙂

3 Way jump with Kris & Dougie. 2 way linked exit, me and Dougie, then Kris joined. We created a chain, holding onto each others feet, then all released and turned 180 degrees, before linking back up, and repeating. Break off and track away at 5k, and deploy main canopy at 3.5k, before landing within 25M landing target

We have a winner

Once the scores were all totaled up, and first and second places for the intermediate category were announced (1st place winner has 900+ jumps, 2nd place 1100+ jumps) it was between me and Lewis (who has 200+ jumps) and, my name was called out, OMFG!!! I only entered for cheap jumps, and now here I am, getting a national champion medal. Some serious drinking is called for………..

Jump 128, Nationals final jump

This post is being typed up from notes taken from logbook

For this jump, there are 2 of us who can possibly get 3rd place. Luckily for me, I get to jump after the other guy, so ill see him land. The first load exit the plane, and I watch Lewis like a hawk, all the way to the ground. He lands within the circle. I now know that i MUST do the same to be in with a chance. I exit stable, and deploy after ~ 15 seconds. Everything is going great, untill the final 50 odd feet of landing, im being blown sideways. I try to correct it, but i need to flare to land safely, and land less than 2M to the right of the 5M target, well within the 25M target zone. We will have to wait untill the final announcements to see the outcome of this jump…….
